Overview
Registered Nurse – ICU (neurosurgical unit), Rochester, NY. Travel - Temporary Assignment beginning 08/03/2026 for a 13-week contract. Weekly pay range $2,119 to $2,184 per week. No guaranteed hours. Shift: 12-hour rotating D/E/N; weekends, holidays, on-call and callback required. Work setting involves a neurosurgical unit with both floor-level and an 8-bed high-acuity step-down area, focused on brain tumors, spinal conditions, neuroendovascular procedures, and epilepsy surgery.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a mixed-acuity neurosurgical unit, including floor-level and 8-bed high-acuity step-down patients
- Perform frequent neuro assessments (Q1 checks) and monitor neurological status; utilize NIHSS as indicated
- Manage neuro-related lines and devices (eg, EVDs, lumbar drains, arterial lines, VP shunts) and ensure hemodynamic stability
- Administer and titrate medications and drips (eg, Cardene, 3% NS) per protocol; monitor telemetry and seizure precautions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement care plans, respond to changes in patient condition, and document thoroughly in the electronic health record
- Provide patient and family education, discharge planning support, and adherence to infection control and safety standards

Requirements
- Active RN license in New York
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in stepdown/PCU or high-acuity telemetry/neurosurgery settings
- BLS (American Heart Association) required
- NIHSS required
- Telemetry experience required
- ACLS preferred (not required)
