Salary: $198,050 - 267,950 per year Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent is required.
- Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance is required; a clearance that has been active within the past 24 months is considered active.
- U.S. citizenship is required for the security clearance and export control requirements.
- 3+ years of technical leadership experience in ground and software systems engineering, including requirements, design, and operations.
- 3+ years of experience leading a software development or product deployment team.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps and/or DevSecOps.
- 5+ years of experience with configuration management tools and best practices for systems, software, and hardware design.
- For preferred consideration, we look for a relevant bachelors degree with significant related experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
- Practical experience with requirements traceability and configuration management is preferred.
- Agile certification such as CSM, PSM, SAFe Agilist, or an equivalent credential is preferred.
- Experience leading aerospace, defense, avionics, or other safety-critical systems is preferred.
- Experience with cloud-native environments such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS GovCloud, or Azure Government is preferred.
- Experience with model-based design and verification, including SIL/HIL testing environments, is preferred.
- Experience managing subcontractor software deliveries is preferred.
- Strong experience with real-time embedded software, C/C++, low-level driver development, network stacks, and hardware/software debugging for microcontrollers and/or FPGAs is preferred.
- Experience implementing real-time embedded hardware, firmware, and software is preferred.
- Strong analytical ability and proficiency with physical modeling and simulation tools is preferred.
- Experience developing applied physics, modeling, and/or simulation software using MATLAB, Python, Jupyter, or similar tools is preferred.
- Experience with real-time embedded systems and low-level driver development using microcontrollers, single-board computers, and/or FPGAs is preferred.
- Experience performing control system logic, algorithm, hardware, and software development tasks is preferred.
Responsibilities: - We own and maintain the software architecture with an emphasis on clear interfaces, stability, version control, and maintainability.
- We partner with stakeholders to shape system definition and translate system-level needs into traceable software requirements and models.
- We manage supplier and subcontractor software deliverables to ensure process alignment and integration readiness.
- We lead agile delivery for the software team, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and removal of blockers.
- We guide backlog prioritization with product and system owners, define sprint goals, and drive timely delivery of integration-ready increments.
- We define, document, and uphold integration contracts, data models, and message definitions with Integration & Test and Systems partners.
- We ensure software is designed for testability by requiring unit, component, integration, SIL/HIL artifacts, observability hooks, and diagnosable failure modes.
- We lead DevSecOps and CI/CD practices to support repeatable builds, automated testing, artifact traceability, and consistent deployments across environments.
- We coordinate with Integration & Test to align delivery cadence with integration increments and controlled configuration baselines.
- We support verification and validation by helping develop test strategies, reviewing test results, and triaging defects.
- We establish and monitor delivery metrics such as velocity, cycle time, quality measures, and technical debt to improve predictability and execution quality.
- We coach and mentor engineers on agile methods, test automation, CI/CD, code quality, and observability.
- We contribute to risk and issue management affecting software delivery and integration readiness, escalating when needed to protect milestones.
- We document integration outcomes and test findings, and provide input for design reviews and readiness assessments.
