Job Description

A private family is seeking an experienced Butler / Household Manager to oversee their oceanfront estate in Pebble Beach, California. This is a unique dual-role position combining exceptional private-service skills with hands-on property and household management.

The ideal candidate will be polished, service-oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable transitioning between formal butler service when the principals are in residence and comprehensive property oversight when they are away. The family travels frequently, so flexibility and willingness to travel are essential.

Responsibilities:

Butler & Personal Service

• Provide highly personalized butler service to the principals and guests.

• Provide attentive service throughout the day and during formal and informal dinners and entertaining.

• Assist with planning and execution of private dinners, events, and family gatherings.

• Oversee table settings, flowers, décor, and other details related to entertaining.

• Maintain a sophisticated eye for presentation and detail.

• Assist with wardrobe management and other personal-service needs.

• Travel with the principals between homes, provide personal service and household support while traveling.

• Anticipate the principals' needs and provide seamless, proactive service.

Household & Property Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operation and presentation of the residence.

• Manage household vendors, contractors, and service providers.

• Coordinate repairs, maintenance, landscaping, and ongoing property projects.

• Monitor the condition of the residence and estate while the family is away.

• Ensure the property is fully prepared for the family's arrival.

• Maintain high standards throughout the home and grounds.

• Communicate regularly with the family and/or owner's representative regarding property needs and projects.

• Troubleshoot issues independently and ensure they are resolved efficiently.

Qualifications

• Strong formal butler-service background with excellent knowledge of high-end private service.

• Exceptional attention to detail and presentation.

• Strong knowledge of table setting, entertaining, flowers, and formal household service.

• Discreet, trustworthy, polished, and professional.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

• Ability to independently manage vendors, contractors, maintenance, and property operations.

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Comfortable working independently when the principals are not in residence.

• Flexible and willing to travel extensively, including internationally.

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required
